Legislative change for exposure control

Do you meet compliance?

Across Australia federal and state governments are tightening Health and Safety legislation to protect workers long term health and prevent them from hazardous exposures in the workplace. Employers and workers now have to ensure they and others nearby are not exposed to airborne hazards like fumes, exhaust, noise and dust. With a strong focus on Crystalline Silica, State governments have updated exposure limits and control requirements to prevent occupational illnesses.

Builders..

are responsible to manage exposures on construction sites, with a focus on isolating exposures to protect workers nearby.

Contractors..

are required to protect their workers when creating hazardous exposures by using engineered and administrative controls.

Workers…

are required to use controls to manage the exposures to themselves and to others nearby.

Every Site, A Healthy Site

Respirable Crystalline Silica is a harmful carcinogenic that must be controlled to prevent workers from exposure. All states have introduced stricter regulations that require the use of controls that must be documented, monitored and reportable to demonstrate usage and effectiveness.
